What's Adventure Quest like? Anyone played it? It's advertising it at the top.
Did you give up on Nethack, GK? *stern voice*: Stick at it!!!

I have some of the most beautiful graphics in adventure games known to nerd - I really do owe those games a little more of my time. If I'm having a low tech day I'll go back to Net hack - although the version I have is extremely brutal! My tip: if it's advertised in a banner on proboards - avoid it! (although I was intrigued by a flying fairy warrior one) -If it's the one I'm thinking of the whole thing looks like medieval Pokemon (monster A vs. warrior B) with simple vector graphics, not sure what the "community" feel would be like in a game like that.

I briefly played Retpon (Balderdash) last night. It's a downloadable "widget" for the Opera browser - along with Tetris and Missile command. widgets.opera.com/

^^ Hurrah! Do you get to second base with Princess Zelda? Brought quite a few games with me to mums. Much deliberation is spent over game selection.

I didn't bring the box for Halo, which is a bit dim of me because it contains the installation codes. Nearly 20th level in Diablo though!

I'm still hunting bandits in Baldur's Gate. Can the characters die of old age?

Finished it. Must be a sort of record for me. Only bought it on Friday afternoon. Erm. Unsatisfying climax -and lame ending. Fun though, mostly. There's a few locations which might be straight copies of ones in Quake 2, which is nice. Of course I started playing it from the beginning again, but this time as a leff/loo-tennent. ooh feel the burn! Plays without the disk (if DAT500 wants to borrow my copy when he gets back )

STALKER is in my English abode, I hope April goes quickly.
At the moment I'm replaying Zelda: Wind Waker, which is lovely and I'm in a debate as to whether I prefer the cell-shading to Twilight Princess.

I got a free 14 day WoW trial. (Came with The Times.) I've never played before. Should I take advantage of it for 14 days or will it suck me in?

What do you mean by good? Space, operating system, speed? I wouldn't start it til next term (mid-April) anyway, as I can get on the computer more when I'm up there.

I just mean are the general specs up to standard to play WoW - I'd check first, or it could be a lot of fuss followed by disappointment. (I only say this because I've spent the last few years of my life scouring the backs of games boxes ... or living in a strange retro world where everything only runs in MS-DOS )

I dunno. I have the CD here, but I don't understand the more complex stats on here. Maybe it's just more trouble than it's worth.

All you need is cash! Which bit do you mean? Have I seen it. Went back to playing Morrowind last night - been fighting goblins in sewars and getting poisoned by the Dark Brotherhood ... must level up, must become powerful! Had one of my gaming hangovers today.

They are two very fine games! Totally addicted to Morrowind now. Kill, go shopping, training, killing, shopping, complete quest, sell stuff, shopping, kill more monsters, sleep, train, level up, shopping.

STALKER is incredible. Just breathtaking in scale, ideas and the sense of vulnerability - like Deus Ex meets Operation Flashpoint. The day-night cycle is also implemented flawlessly.
Today! Call of Juarez and Prey arrived. The former is fantastic (Far Cry with cowboys!) and the latter is very, very shiny.
