there's a spin off series coming soon named after the house they went to in the Werewolf episode... Torchwood (?) anyway, yea, my friends mum is currently working on that and i quote 'it fills the gap left by the X files yet contains enough for the nerds'. so... it could be good... some of the stuff looks really gorey (seen the photos....) x

Torchwood - I was wondering why they kept mentioning it in this series, like "Bad Wolf" in the first series. I thought they were out to get the Doctor? (Suddenly it feels like the 1970s - Quatermass, Doomwatch ...) Yesterday's episode was very silly.

It's that kid's fault is it? Goddamn kids, ruining sci-fi for the rest of us. __ The space station around the black hole contained the Torchwood Archive as well. Sarah and K9?! Oh dear god, there's something wrong with Time and Space. (I like K9

what IS torchwood??

Torchwood is the society set up by Queen Victoria after she encounters the Doctor and the werewolf. She appeared to associate the Doctor with negative supernatural forces which must be investigated and defended from. The implication is that the society survives throughout history and crosses the Doctor's path on several occassions, no doubt leading to some sort of duel or alliance with the Doctor at a later date. (That's me speculating) Like Sparky says, a spin-off series may have X-Files style of story-line. I.e. UFOs, alien encounters, ghost stories, weird stuff.

Only if it refers to the Doctor and is generally a bit gay. I did have a good giggle today, though.

Well, just make sure you watch the back-story bit at the beginning of the next one. I think BBC3 are repeating this series at the moment.

Call me a knit-picker, but the new assistant will be played by an actress we've seen already playing a character who was killed ... It seems a little lazy not to look further afield, unless they use the parallel dimension excuse. Not like there's a shortage of actors out there. But hey she's black! Gee-whiz, BBC News ... it must be a real turning point: "first black assistant!" news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5146666.stm
