I'm reading A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby.
I thought it was a strange book for my mother to buy for me...
It's about these 4 very different people who meet on top of a roof, because they were all going to throw themselves off it.

Oops, suicidal comedy, eh? I've yet to read any Hornby - he gets reccomended occassionally, but I'm usually reading something with laser guns in at the time. ;D

Ah, well, JJ, the American one, who told the others he was dying of an imaginary disease ( ), was called by some tabloid paper, and asked if they all came down from the roof for "inspirational reasons". So Jess, the nutty one, decided that they'd seen an Angel. He looked like Matt Damon. ;D

Have you read much Truman Capote? I've only read Breakfast at Tiffanies, I think. I remember liking his style.

I've only read Other Voices, Other Rooms, which was fantastic. Kind of a twisted coming of age story. There was a transvestite in it.

Hee hee, sounds like quite a few books and films - that or the news Mortal Engines ... I remember them having some great covers. Well, if Richard and Judy recommend it, well, who are we to challenge these intellectual goliaths of daytime TV?
