Generator Microsoft Word 11 (filtered medium) To All Staff and Students
The severe weather has caused some structural damage across the Campus in a number of separate incidents. It has been necessary to evacuate Roscoe and Williamson buildings and partially evacuate Schuster and Simon buildings.
Estates staff are present in the affected areas so please follow directions given by them to ensure your own safety. Please be aware of debris being blown around in the high winds and take care, particularly in areas where scaffolding has been erected.
Diana Hampson Director of Estates
An e-mail I got yesterday.

This is all my fault, as since I left England the country has clearly been trying to use wind power to get closer to me. ;]

We kept losing power in my media lesson yesterday!!
I was angry.
And badminton was cancelled because the Leisure Centre fell apart.
Or the roof blew off or something.
12 dead?!

Nah, I lie, it's all DAT500's fault.

Loughborough market keeps getting cancelled, the stalls get blown down the street. I did a craft fair in the summer and they had a helicopter as part of the fair thing, and it landed behind our stalls and blew everyone's stuff across the field.

Yeah, lol. Apparently the helicopter people "assured them it wouldn't happen", or "they'd never had this problem before" or something. Very frustrating.
