sorry to be blonde... but whats an avatar? Bless you Hoggle. Sorry I posted this in a rush - I meant to explain how to use them and everything. Avatar's just the name for the picture you use to represent "you". (I'm sure Barney Juno can explain how they became to be known as Avatars ... he's a net veteran, I reckon .. .) <<<<< The picture on the left. You can change your avatar in your Profile settings. - its similar to posting pictures.

General Announcement: The board has some default Avatars which you can select in a pull down menu in your profile ... erm ... I've changed a couple of pictures without changing the names - so if selecting "Bart" summons "Demons of the Nazgigorathor" my apologies ... I'm still learning what all these levers do ... I will blame further trouble on the Dept. of Gremlins.

Avatar for Minotaur. Lots of piccys of Minotaurs on the web but many of them seem to be being beaten up by that thug Theseus, and that just wont do. Found one I liked and half cropped the head (I'm sure the original artist wont mind ... heh heh ) There might be friendlier ones about ... So hey user Minotaur, Gusta? You want? You like?

I would be careful with the avatar that you nicked from Dungeons Dragons (the elf in your first post) as Wizards of the Coast are reknowned for taking great pains to take action against infringement of copyrights.

Hey ragados - at the moment they are more worried about direct links slowling their site down- so I've copied the files (breaking more rules) to our photobucket file. This issue keeps popping up. We make no profit from their images and I often provide them with advertising by telling people to play D&D. (yup, and they have to be hot on copywrite because of the open-source policies they have) I'm copying and scanning lots of images for this forum. Sometimes I say who the artists are and other times forget to (but will provide info if emailed). I'm also copying quite a few electronic texts. As I've said to Barney Juno, lets wait for the lawyers to call and then we can hit delete. The important thing is if we're taking custom away from anyone, which we're not - I'm a fan of copyright and intellectual property because of my books and similar projects. I also have quite a few artist friends (or have some very strange ideas about cw ... but we wont go into that ...). But thanks for the heads up - come to think of it, Wizards of the Coast are the only company so far I've poached images from which are likely to follow anything up, because they are net-savvy. So if they are reading ... For a small fee I'm selling photo-copies of the Players Handbook 3.5 ... Cheers dude.
