I hate a tonne of rice and soy sauce earlier and I'm still hungry! Why is that - it happens with pasta too.

the thing with rice and pasta.... that should be the opposite.... cause the carbs should be heavy in your stomach and keep you feeling full..... i think.

I hate a tonne of rice and soy sauce earlier and I'm still hungry! Why is that - it happens with pasta too. Masses of high GI (i.e fast release) carbohydrates, when absorbed by the body trigger the release of insulin, which causes a sugar low (as opposed to high). This manifests itself as a feeling of hunger. And an addiction to jaffa cakes that borders on the perverse, frankly. Er, probably. If you want to avoid feeling hungry, eat tons of protein. Are you from the planet Vegetaria, GK?

Are you from the planet Vegetaria, GK? Damn you Barney. ;D You just summed up my lifestyle. Potatoes, bread. - The odd sugar boost - so is this why I'm tired some of the time and periods of being hyper? The hunger but full thing is weird. Thanks.

Are jaffa cakes suitable for veggies then? OK for vegetarians, but not vegans, since they contain eggs.

Why does one always crave chocolate in the middle of the night?
|
|
|
Post by Minotaur on Apr 30, 2005 22:48:51 GMT
a decrease in blood sugar levels. choclate gives an immediate boost in these levels, whereas fruit releases it at slow rate to keep healthy levels to maintain the proper functioning of the human body.
