Economic
Looking at the tables of data and analysing these there are many points which can be raised about these issues.
The first table of data is about unemployment and figures for how many people are unemployed between 1998 and 2002 in the UK. This figure has dropped in that time scale from 1.38 to 0.96 million. This drop could be because the economy is generally doing well and also because there are enough jobs to go around for everyone. This can be a disadvantage for Kinetics as more people are working so they have less time to do sports and therefore buy sportswear to participate in as they are too busy.
The second table is about Disposable Income. This figure has risen from £9,554 to £11,928 in the space of 4 years. This could be because more people have jobs and therefore are able to bring home more money first to spend on their needs, and then their wants. This could be due to the fact that people are paid well now and also a majority of major banks work with relatively low interest rates. This is an advantage for Kinetics as disposable income can be spent on sportswear and if people have more money to spend, the more they will buy.
The third table is about how many adults participate in all different types of sports across the UK form 1996 to 2001. The major sports in which the figures have increased are Aerobics and keep fit, cycling, golf, football and jogging. This is due to people wanting to have a healthier lifestyle and to keep healthy. This is good for kinetics as the more people that take part in sports the more people will be prone to buy sports clothes to participate in the sport.
People go to the gym loose weight buy more clothes if kinetics base their products in gyms more people are likely to buy them from the gym itself which beats other competitors e.g. nike and adidas and boosts the sales of kinetics products.
