Sorry, I've been terribly late with the Christmas decorations on the forum this. Hope you're all having a happy and not too stressful Christmas.

Merry Christmas all I hope you've all had relaxing and pleasant days. We had a very nice day. Salmon for lunch, since my grandmother declared the other day that she doesn't like turkey much. My father has been so thoroughly christmassed in his time that he kept calling the fish "the turkey" - "I think we'll have to cut the turkey's tail off" My brother came in, sat down at his plate of salmon, looked at the vast array of dishes in front of him, observed Dad producing more and more food, and asked, "Is this all for the starter??" Starter, Jack? This is dinner. Completely threw him. I think he was genuinely upset to not be having turkey. There was a rather wonderful moment, when after dinner and the present opening, Natasha was wearing her sparkly floaty princess special occasion dress, and a santa hat, and pointing a plastic machine gun at her father. My sister, also, bought me the most fantastic present. It's a hexagonal packet of six different hair dyes (all unusual colours - from peach through pink to purple and blue) with a spinner in the middle... To decide my next hair colour for me! I think we might hold a ceremony.

This is fabulous! ----- Santa (Darkness) was very kind. The day was spent at Darkness's place. Many presents. Pizza for late lunch. Lucy played with wrapping paper.

I got lots of books, beautiful Mucha and Art Nouveau calendars, Twinings tea tray with mugs, loose tea and little teapot shaped infuser, etc, courtesy of GK. I got a bumper cd/DVD set of Leonard Cohen goodness from DAT500, I got cash from my parents along with toiletries and lots of comedy stand-up dvds which I had requested (my mum always wants me to make a list), etc. From my sister and Lance I got a beautiful soft cardigan, Liz Earle toiletries (v expensive but my sister works on the Liz Earle counter in John Lewis in Nottingham and gets 75% staff discount), etc. From Becky, got mugs saying things like "the cat loves me best" etc, and a Selfridges Alice in Wonderland tea tin containing posh breakfast, afternoon and Earl Grey teas, etc. many other things I have forgotten to list here. Feeling very lucky and emotionally fragile right now. This christmas at home has been SO much better than last one in hospital. Am very lucky to have lovely people in my life. Next stop - Birthday.....!!
