Is anyone else signed up for National Novel Writing Month?
I'm terrified and excited about it! Two days until it starts. ;D

Yikes. I wrote a 25,000 word adventure game thingy in about 6 weeks, and it was very painful 6 weeks- but I was eager to impress and believed in myself (not the published stuff which was written later and were much shorter, also painful in different ways). But the hard bit for me was making the sections all link up, it didn't even have to read well. I have problems writing even the most basic prose now. Drunk free form stuff - dead easy, but proper paragraphs with characters and narrative? Nah, far too much work. Doodling is much more rewarding. What sort of length are you going for? Go, Chloe, go!

Edit: It was a lot bigger than that - I get really confused by the numbers now - easier to work out when you've spent a few years writing dissertations and all that nonsense (125,000 words? Surely not. It was a fat bugger. Probably 25,000 printed in double-lined - as was required in days of yore - the Funfax books were only 7,000 + a tape script but they seemed to take a long time to write as well - very thin manuscripts - thinner that most essays. Hmm ) I really must read up on NaNoWriMo. Sounds like a cult. Far too many books in the world, already, save the trees. (Sorry for narcissistic hijack)

GK, I'd forgotten that you're a genuine writer.
3,371 words down, 46,629 to go!

I'm impressed at the word count. Remember, if you hit 10,000 it's a "novella". What's your theme? ___ ... thus proving that you're a true novelist! ;D

I'm just over 5,000 now, so on target.
It's about people (it's TRASH, ok!).

People - that's good! I could never write about people very well, I wanted to write about spaceships and colonies on Mars. I think people like reading about people. 5,000 words of anything is an impressive achievement. The ability to bang out a manuscript is not to be scoffed at.

Just remember that not finishing novels is what great writers do best.

Is Vegan Mofo a challenge if you're already one? Or is it more about sharing recipes?

Basically about posting about vegan food for a month! It inspires people to get into their kitchen and so on, to show off!
