This forum uses BBCode. (formating tags in messages) If you're using Mozilla Firefox, you can download an "add on" here: addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1505/It creates a special "Paste as ..." facility in Firefox which allows you to copy from MS Word and other sources (I think it also works when copying web pages). When you paste into form box (like the "reply-to" message boxes) it retains format information such as bold and italics tags which would normally be lost when pasting. It's not perfect but I'm already using to convert meeting minutes notes from Word files on another forum. (But watch out for smart quotes and some special characters, it's rather primitive.) For a general guide to BBCode: www.bbcode.org/

ha ha - you need to spend more time on some real forums! ;D Woah Alex - you're posting all over the place - normally people ignore most of my posts - it feels freaky when I actually get a response. ;D ;D

Okay, I'll explain. Mozilla Firefox is a "web broswer" like Internet Explorer. It's free and has some different features. I feel safer from viruses with Mozilla Firefox. When you type a document in Word or read a web page, often the text is "formatted" - meaning it uses bold and italic lettering, along with lots of other stuff. When you "copy and paste" text between two programs the "formatting" (bold, italic, etc) sometimes becomes lost. "Hi there, you loon!"
Becomes "plain" or "unformatted" text: "Hi there, you loon!"
On forums like this you can waste lots of time by putting the bold and italic "formatting tags" back in. There is a downloadable upgrade for Mozilla Firefox which prevents the problem from happening. So that makes me happy and I wanted to let people know. It's not perfect (it gets confused by some special characters like smart/"curvy" quotation marks for example.)

It certainly isn't an essential feature - not like Flash and stuff like that.

He is. (Sorry) Internet explorer has fucked our computer. We get almost no pop-ups with Netscape, and loads with Explorer, which has about 5 pop up blockers. It's silly
