Basically when you have an email in your list, the snippet function displays the first line of text of the email. If you put javascript in the start of the text it will trigger it via the snippet - this basically means that people could access your info or create annoying viruses.
If you have a Gmail account I'd recommend turning snippets off.

Aah, well I turned them off, I knew there was some privacy issue with gmail accounts, could never work out what though.
