Yep a whole series, and there must be another one as they didn't finish it. You're probably right, but I do so love a dystopian yarn

Why do I think weekend TV will suddenly improve just because I haven't watched it for a while?
Every few hours I forget and turn it on again a it rewards me with nonsense!

Just watched (on iPlayer) Comedy Playhouse: Hospital People. Totally shit. Don't bother with it. If they go on to commission a series, I'll eat something non-vegetarian to make myself worry about food poisoning and intensive farming methods.

I definitely have to check that out. Tumblr seems pretty wild about it. Where did you see it?

It's on Cartoon Network. When mum & stepdad are away I get the run of the sky box and there is nothing worth watching on television. At all. Ever. I'm serious. So I ended up watching the kids channels and I saw it and Tumblr loves it so I watched it and it's BRILLIANT. I have watched most of it online since I'm a millenial and we don't understand scheduled television. But if I can I watch it on Cartoon Network too to support its viewing figures and be more ethical. If I could buy the DVDs I would OKAY
I definitely recommend it. It's got a really good overarching storyline, and the individual episodes are adorable. It's got a good balance of peril-danger-feelings and cuteness. All the characters are really human and get-able. And it's really woman-positive. The main character is a boy but the Crystal Gems are all female (but not human) and he really admires them and wants to be like them. Which generally boys aren't allowed to do in our world but in Stephen's world it's fine and he can wear a skirt to perform and no one mentions it.
And you should watch it so I can babble at you and you know what I'm talking about. I don't tumblr anymore so I'm all aloooone with the kids' TV.

Your post had me giggling all week! Sorry, I didn't reply, random events and stomach bug meant that all pages got the a 3 second once over only. I'm totally with you on the "why should we not pirate?" when something hasn't been released in our region. I like the idea of "millenials" being baffled about scheduled television. I'm having similar dilemmas with Adventure Time and Clone Wars. Missing episodes shown in US but not UK, why oh why? I pays me monies! Strangely, Game of Thrones, the zeitgeist show, seems too large to chew on, for me to worry about right now, and I'm sure Pick TV will show it at some point (there's only so many episodes of Border Patrol they can show before the advertisers start refusing to pay) I will definitely be checking Steven Universe out. I definitely need this in my life atm.

Cookie cat HE LEFT HIS FAMILY BEHIND
I can totally see you in Greg Universe. Yep.
The cutting bits is a good reason for less ethical watching. I don't think the bits the article mentions they have cut really matter too much... I mean the show is still queer as hell. And the women-who-love-women characters are pretty obviously loving women. And Steven Universe does Love really well. Really well.
The first episode I watched was one that was basically about anxiety. No spoilers, but Garnet has futurevision and she shared that with Steven and he got really scared of what might happen to him in the next moment, and he fell apart. It was adorable and relatable and ADORABLE. And Garnet's my fave.
It's worth getting into though, because Peridot only turns up in the 2nd season and she is fantastic.
I can't do Game of Thrones. I've tried a couple of times but I just get bored. Guy walks into tavern. Exchanges comments with other guy. Full-scale war with arrows and fire and beheading happens. What? Apparently there is some plot in it, but I just have no desire to put the effort into it.

Of late, Watched Series 1 of Twelve Monkeys. The jury is still out - addictive time travel stories, but not quite strange enough. Really getting into Parks & Recreation. (s1&2) And, maybe just maybe, watched Force Awakens a few times as well.

I've just finished watching Series 4 of Parks & Recreation. - - Does anyone want to buy me some iTunes vouchers? No, but seriously, I need to watch more! Or maybe I shouldn't get back to dodgy embedded videos of Steven Universe?

Steven Universe is the answer.
I'm on the 4th episode of Grace & Frankie season 2. I'd forgotten how much I loved it... until halfway through the opening credits. It may be the best thing Netflix have done. Better than Kimmy Schmidt. Much better than Daredevil. Maybe even better than bringing me SERIES FOUR OF ORPHAN BLACK. Not better than Orphan Black itself don't get carried away.
It's really good. It's really damn good. Frankie is me. Frankie is the woman I hope to be. Frankie is amazing. It's so worth watching even though the premise sounds a bit... a bit like the kind of thing I watch and feel slightly bad about. (Like Jane the Virgin. Which, incidentally, was pretty good.)

Now I'm feeling really out of touch. I think I'm aware of a couple of those shows, but only vaguely. Orphan Black gets mentioned here and there, and I think I was spammed about the Daredevil series...
I fixed the aerial cable properly today. The reception was so bad yesterday that I connected the TV to my ipad and watched "live TV" via the Filmon site. This justifies an adaptor and HDMI cable I spontaneously bought a while back. At least that's what I'm telling myself. Stripping co-axial cable is like reaching Level 2 after learning to wire a plug (I think). Dad-Like Achievement Unlocked.

Waybuloo, when left on in the background, is very soothing, but there's just enough background noise to help me focus on the computer and not fall asleep.

I've finished watching Stranger Things on Netflix. It was good, and I'm trying not to analyse the links with 80s thrillers and scifi and spielberg and all the rest. I accidentally watched Labyrinth again. I'm not entirely sure how that happened.

Last night I took my partner to see Nick Cave's "One More Time With Feeling" about his new album and the loss of his son. It was profoundly beautiful and we left the cinema in Derby, wandering through an empty intu centre to the almost empty car park in silence. The album, Skeleton Tree, arrived this morning and it is a complete surge of emotion. Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=svru1jNLIK8Song from the album, Jesus Alone: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iGxoJnygW8

Netflix is back on my ipad. For sci-fi I'm trying out The Expanse - sort of Total Recall meets Babylon 5 or something. For comedy I'm watching season one of Chuck. Not sure if I want to go back to Attack on Titan, might revisit Knights of Sydonia.
