It's that time of the year again. A time of violent stomach cramp, pet dogs wearing antlers, and pretending to like Advocat. Oh, and Reviews of the Year. So, what has been everybody's cultural highlights of the year? - Best song?
- Best book?
- Best live band?
- Best TV?
- Best album?
You know the sort of thing. Oh, and how about additional categories for stuff you only found out existed this year?

Not familiar with the Dresden Dolls' work, but am intrigued by the idea of Brechtian Punk Cabaret. It's a while since I've read anything by Poppy Z Brite too.
My list:
Best Song: Trick Me - Kelis. Best Album: A tough one. I think that The Strokes album probably gets the nod, purely by virtue of not being by Franz Ferdinand- oh, er, of course! LifeBlood - Manic Street Preachers. Best live act: Scissor Sisters ar The Charlotte, Leicester. I went vaguely expecting a younger, B-52's, but didn't get it. A great night out. Best Live Act II: The Pixies, Brixton. Look, if I have to explain tghis one, I'm just going to sulk, OK? Best Book: Some great books this year, honorable mentions go to A Million Little Pieces by James Frey and How mumbo jumbo conquered the world by Francis Wheen. TV: The Sopranos. Bada, and if you will, Bing!

Song most likely to get stuck in my head: Velvet Revolver - Slither (I'm bad at judging best song)
Best Live Act: HIM at Manchester Academy. I had ticket number 1 ... wooo! Was first time i saw em. Although Slayer were pretty f?cking awesome too. Venue was too big to fully appreciate them tho.
Best Book: The DaVinci Code. Couldnt put the bugger down.
TV shows suck, although Charmed was cool.
