Does anyone know where I can download a freebie Windows 3.11 for floppy disks on the web (I don't have a peer-to-peer service set up yet) I'm trying to fix a display problem on a 386 laptop - I have some display drivers but it also requires the original Windows installation disks. They're are better hobbies. The old thing (DELL325NC 386) is running Word 6 and it would be cool if the screen colours weren't all in reverse - it's just a tiny setting - I may not even need these extra drivers. Hmm. Maybe it's a waste of time ... (Don't make me even think about about installing some retrograde version of Linux!)

LinkyI'd download one of those clients and span it using winzip or pkunzip. You could also try and network your desktop to your laptop via parallel or serial COM ports using laplink or something similar - just make sure it's the DOS version of laplink to work on the 386.

The link seems blank This afternoon I downloaded Auri-something and Ares. Ares was the least scary of the two, I seem to be able to get hold of lots of little DOS things, but very few full operating systems. MP3s however, a whole different story ... I'm kicking myself - I'm sure I threw out some Windows for Workgroups disks a couple of years back. Ta anyhow. I should be back from mum's on Sunday night.

I see ... tried editting your post and messed it up ( url tag doesn't employ quotes ) but it seems to get me somewhere useful.
