Sometimes when I'm working on the odd website or fiddling with settings here I find I have to test the pages to see how they look in different web browsers. Out of interest, which browser are you currently using (or use the most) ?
Also, if you know I'm taking about, what resolution is your screen set?
Do you have problems with Flash and other pluggins?
Thanks.

Your windows are kept small within the bigger screen right? I keep slipping back into lower resolutions because I like my text BIG. The higher resolutions are blessing though.

I've found that opening pdf files can clog Firefox, and now automatically right-click on links to check their pdf-ness. Perhaps not surprisingly, Firefox does not play well with some items that have been "enhanced" with DRM for my comfort and safety.
Another interesting thing is that when Firefox gets tired and wants a lie down, I get a message box (emphasis mine) saying
"An error errno has occured. Please close Navigator"
Hmmm...

Yup I like to be able to see everything I have open, I hate big texts as it looks like those large print books my nan used to get cuz she couldn't read normal print. Firefox is a bit buggy, but it stops 90% of pop ups unlike IE so thats why I chose it. Being able to tab the windows I have open is also nice.

Thanks guys, this is really great. I'm with you on that Barny and DK, although I've been generallly quite happy with firefox, it does seem to snag a bit sometimes. Like Firefox, the new Netscape has tabbed browsing and all sorts of security features - I'm currently test driving my copy, but I'm still mainly using Firefox. Don't worry too much about resolutions Clojio - the fact that you use so many different computers with different set-ups is very interesting. Reminds me of when I'm not at home and have to make do we everyone else's machines, cybercafes etc. Bex, my old laptop was often set to 800x600 - this now seems to be the lower resolution to which web pages are designed to fit. Thanks.

My dad wont let me download anything, so it's Explorer... My brother downloaded Netscape, so I use that, and at school we have Firefox so I use that... - I hate Explorer. Also, at school, tabs are very useful for pretending to be working

In general, Firefox is a lovely piece of software, and exemplifies the best that the open source community has to offer. The use of tabs is, I think fantastic, but I suspect that IE won't ever have them because Microsoft tend not to write MDI applications as a matter of company policy. Most home users should be able to use it straight out of the box, since it copies bookmarks and settings from IE (commercial users may have to fiddle with some proxy settings, but it seems to get those right too), and in general find it a pain free experience. The jury's still out on whether it's more secure than IE (ultimately, a browser is only as secure as the underlying OS), and I'm not all that sure it's that much faster. I think it does block more pop-ups than IE, but then I've simply given up using IE unless I absolutely have to.

Interesting point. A couple weeks ago I heard of a virus/spyware which effected Firefox. Netscape has tabs, doesn't Opera? (tries to remember several weeks back) We have to remember that Microsoft love borrowing the better ideas from other companies - but I guess tabs are exactly the same as using the Taskbar. At least the different browsers are being more consistent in displaying web pages in similar ways these days.

True, but you might have noticed that most microsoft apps (Word, for example), when you open up more than 1 document, it executes another instance of the application, rather than opening up the new document in the original app. This is so that if the app crashes, you don't lose all your documents... Then again, web pages tend to be read-only so it's not quite as critical.
